My father in law taught at Colgate for many years. My husband and daughter are graduates. I count many people on the hill as close friends. Never in my life have I been more proud of this institution and what it stands for. Thank you for speaking out on behalf of Colgate and all of us.

I am proud of Colgate’s stance on the recently signed EO on immigration and refugees. This action by President Trump is counter to everything our nation stands for. Please continue to fight this unconstitutional and highly objectionable action.

Laura became my manager when she assumed responsibilities for the Development Office. She proved immediately to be someone with vision, who was strategic and who possessed operational finesse that was amazing.

I wandered into Chapel House the winter of my freshman year. It was cold and chaotic outside, it was warm and calm inside. Each space was quiet. The library with its large windows contained spirituality and stimulation of exotic thinking about Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam. Chapel House opened my eyes and heart, and helped shape my lifetime’s international perspective

Often, when in a church, the remembrance of the old, truly rugged, wooden cross in the Chapel House Library, invades my vision.
That image is always welcomed.

I was excited to see the renovation of the Chapel House. I was a chemistry major and pre-med. I am in the process of retiring from my practice of plastic and microsurgery after 48 years in medicine.
When I look back at my education, what I remember most was my exposure to Ken Morgan and the ethical challenges he presented to all of us who were in his classes. I have often told my children and colleagues that that exposure what what I most retained after I left Colgate. He clearly represented what seems to have been in our recent election.
Chapel House was a wonderful retreat for contemplation and just evening out ones frustrations.

Like my old friend Charles Hallisey, my time at Colgate was fundamentally shaped by the time I was able to spend at Chapel House. I would especially like to express my gratitude and appreciation for Marie Koch, the Resident Director of Chapel House during our time there. She was the embodiment of hospitality, and made the experience of retreat at Chapel House all the more valuable. She even played for me the personal tape recording she had of Thomas Merton speaking to the monks about contemplative prayer. I would also like to thank my extraordinary professors, Kenneth Morgan and John Ross Carter, for fulfilling the vision of Chapel House so fully, and for being such wonderful mentors for me. I will never forget any of you.

I was not able to make homecoming weekend, but was able to view the
entire inauguration ceremony on Livestream. I found it very impressive and touching. President Brian Casey’s address was wonderful – thoughtful, inclusive and heartfelt. He is going to be a great one. God bless and Godspeed president Brian Casey.

Finally someone is bringing this horrific epidemic of plastic in our oceans, etc. to light. Thank you, Dr. Turner! What we also need is a replacement for plastic because obviously recycling is only a partial solution. Calling all seriously amazing inventors?
